More of Dad's old 35mm slides
I’ve found another bundle (about 500 I would guess) of 35mm slides which Dad took in the 1960’s to 1980’s. This is the first batch I’ve scanned and done a little bit of cleanup on. Eventually I’ll create pages for individual themes i.e. Christmas, The Hawketts family, The Beck family etc and try to limit each page to about 40 pictures.
Each of these have had a little bit of time spent getting the white balance correct and exposure as close to correct as I can get it. I’ve applied a little noise reduction and sharpening but since these are jpegs of film it’s not possible to get them perfect. There are still blemishes on some of the pictures, but some of the minor spots and marks have been fixed. Looks like a lot of photoshop time coming up!
Update: I’ve switched to duplicating the slides rather than scanning them and this gives much better results. Over time I’ll go through the ones I’ve scanned and re-do them. If you are interested in the difference between scanning and duplicating see this post. This explains why the white balance has changed quite a lot in some pictures.
It’s obvious looking at these that Dad didn’t take them all since he is in some of them. I assume that those were taken by Paul or Mum and latterly by myself. There are also some pictures which were taken by me in London and some taken by Paul onboard ship. I’ll scan those later.
